Our Mission + Values

Here at The Wild Temple school, we value supporting individuals and communities in reclaiming their power. We aim to share Tantric Science with students, who when ready, can bring the skills, tools, and transformative wisdom out of the classroom (or out of the forest) and into the world.

We value the uniqueness of every individual and that becoming a yoga professional, flower essence practitioner, or tantric herbalist is truly to become one's highest version of themselves. It is our mission to guide those steps and support the journey.

What we stand for is dismantling racism, toxic new age spirituality, patriarchy, and colonialism.  Our school also has feminist values, and many of our programs help heal and support women.

Of huge importance lies in our dedication to the decolonization of yoga. Our classes honor that although yoga is not religious, it is connected to many religions and that there is a strong, living culture around the world that values the Tantric and Yogic teachings as sacred. We aim to maintain this sacred thread while sharing the teachings as best we can, in a manner that honors Tantra, Yoga + Ayurveda's philosophical, scientific AND cultural roots. It is for this reason for example, that we draw much of our education from the ancient texts as well as choose not to omit but include Sanskrit in all of our programs. Although the language is a learning curve for many, including Sanskrit is an important key in not only valuing the lineage but the depth of teachings that are experienced when opening one's mind to its beauty and potency.

We understand that wisdom teachings offer keys that can empower people within their own communities. We encourage our students that are ready, to share what they have learned in a manner that benefits their unique style, interest, and skill. We offer mentorship guidance and final 'giving back' projects for students to become 'seeds' of these valuable teachings within their own communities.

In this manner, the living pulse of ancient wisdom spreads into our contemporary world like beautiful, varied wildflowers.

We aim to offer our programs in accordance with Nature. Releasing the demands of calendar time, we set our courses to flow in a manner that balances action with rest, radiance with receptivity, and attunement to the seasons. For this reason, we follow the sun. Retreats are often held when the sun welcomes comfort, such as January retreats in India and June retreats in Ireland. We also align our apprenticeships to the natural flow of the seasons, and do our best to align also to the school year to support home and family life.

As a school and community, we are allies of black, brown, indigenous, and First Nation people, along with anyone who identifies as LGBTQIA+, our elders, the homeless, the broken, the traumatized, and the forgotten.

Whether online or in-person, we do our best to be allies and stewards of Mother Earth, while being part of the mass movement dedicated to support future generations.

As a yoga-centric school, and being the director of the Sage Apprenticeships, I, Brooke Sullivan, am deeply humbled to be bringing the Sage wisdom of the Himalayan lineage forward, not as a "master" or "guru" but as a decades-long, dedicated practitioner, seeker and initiate of the Sri Vidya lineage.

I recognize that as the director, our Wild Temple School is a growing community in a changing world. In order to be authentic to myself, the teachings and YOU, I do my best to walk my talk, grow from my mistakes and continue to make my practice the central focus of my every day.

Valuing the potency and sacredness that weaving ancient lineage and tradition into the contemporary world offers, our lineage, is not a line, but more of a spiral path or circle within concentric circles.

May we all continue to unfold the magic and truths of the cosmos and forgive ourselves of our imperfections.

May we walk together.
May we understand one another.
May we prosper in each other's prosperity.
